Highly efficient concrete built cavity insulation with a thermal conductivity of 0.033w/mk injected platinum bead insulation offers you the builder the choice of how efficient you want the house.
Typical wall U-Value’s achieved are 106mm Cavity 0.27W/m2K, 125mm Cavity 0.24 W/m2K 150mm, Cavity 0.20 W/m2K
Installation takes place during construction when windows are in and the roof is on. With conduit in place for both ESB connection and internal fuse board.
Via the use of independent engineers to assess your requirements, we take off quantities required and provide a price and U-Value calculations. Which would include floor (if requested), cavity wall, any sloping or semi exposed walls, attic insulation) and wall ties. In order for us to accomplish this all we need is a copy of the plans. If requested, on completion of any developments, we provide you or your client with a full compliance/BER report for their records.
Cellulose Insulation, a non-hazardous more effective insulation. Achieving U-value’s down as far as 0.24 W/m2K in external studs, it is both thermally efficient and at it’s installed density gives very effective sound proofing.
Installation of the material is when all first fix has taken place by means of the damp spray method, the excess is then removed leaving a perfect finish with no gaps, eliminating thermal bridges or cold spots in the wall.
Cellulose is also used to insulate the attic space. This is installed in the last stages of construction and can achieve U-Value’s down as far as 0.10 W/m2K.
Foam Insulation is a two part product installed by custom designed equipment. This product is ideal for Timber Frame and Steel Frame construction.
When installed the material expands to 100 times its original size to completely fill all voids. This ensures a thermally sealed and airtight finish which does not settle or sag after time.
Foam Insulation is applied by spraying liquid chemical components onto open walls, ceilings, trusses and floor surfaces. Preparation to the applied surfaces is generally not necessary. When applied the components quickly expand to make a foam layer of millions of air pockets covering surfaces and filling cracks and voids. The foam adheres to almost any surface, and only takes seconds to cure.
Air tightness (or infiltration of unwanted air, draughts) is the ingress of un-planned air into and out of a building. This is gauged by means of a Blower Door Test which becomes a requirement for all new buildings as of July 2007.
This will typically take place through open cracks or gaps in the fabric construction of a new building, open cracks or gaps created where the structure penetrates the outer skin of the building, open cracks or gaps around door and window openings, open cracks or gaps where services enter the building.
With the introduction of air-tight membrane building’s thermal performance increases so is its energy efficiency. It practically eliminates large heat losses associated with infiltration, which can typically reach up to 30 W/m2. Also the internal heat gains from lighting, other electrical appliances and you are now sufficient to match, the now much smaller heat losses. Draughts, infiltration heat loss, and window draughts are no longer a problem. Comfort within the building is increased with simple control of heat i.e. thermostats.
